The QUICK RELEASE

The quick release is a cone shape device with a female threaded bottom. The Quick Release will attach to any Mono-Pod, regular camera tripod, or window clamp mount that has a standard 1/4 x 20 camera thread.

 The female cone handle on the Stedi Stock® quickly slides over the Quick Release male cone allowing the user to quickly drop the Stedi Stock® on to the cone and instantly have a stable, yet easy side to side turning radius to pan and catch a moving object moving horizontally. If that object then takes off the user can simply pick the Stedi Stock®  off the Quick Release and continue filming or snapping the shutter.   This allows the user to have rigid stability and still be able to pan smoothly without having to loosen any adjustment screws, or take the eye of the optical device in order to look down for a release mechanism.  It also allows the user to immediately revert to shoulder use at a moment’s notice to catch the action.

RIFLE REST

The Rifle rest simply slips over the quick release and works great with a Mono-Pod which not only doubles as a support for your optical device, a shooting Stick, but will serve as a walking stick in rough terrain.  Attach a lanyard to your Mono-pod and always have it handy when you are afield.  It will also function great for those super large Telephoto lenses on the 35mm SLR's.

The Rifle rest is a perfect adapted item for the disabled or senior hunter who is unable to steady a gun for a perfect shot, but also is good for the long range shot using a high powered scoped riffle on a mono-pod.

Also use it in conjunction with the Super Clamp on a bench or in a deer blind to provide a non-marring rest.

Super Clamp

A large clamp that will attach to a fence post, deck railing, pipe fence, car door, tailgate, tree limb or anything that the jaws will accept up to 4-1/2" for a light-weight, stable platform without the weight and bulk of a tripod.   The clamp is made from aluminum, with rubberized and plastic covers to protect finishes.  The device has a threaded hole on the top and on the side to position your device in either position.  It comes with a double ball swivel with the ¼-20 camera mount thread on top.  This allows you to swivel and clamp your device at virtually any angle from the top or side even if the clamp is not level.  The term “window mount” comes from a clamp designed to mount on a car window door glass top or door frame, so that the driver or passenger can sit and view from a range finder or scope or take pictures from a car or truck seat.

Mono-pod

A one piece collapsible pole that quickly opens up to 67-1/2”, or it can be locked at any height in between for sitting standing or uneven terrain.   The Mono-pod has a rotatable ball foot base with a metal point to keep it from slipping on different surfaces.   On the top it has the standard ¼-20 thread insert for cameras and other optical devices, as well as the Stedi Stock® Quick Release cone.  The Mono-pod comes with a comfortable foam grip handle and wrist lanyard, making it an ideal walking stick.  It is made of sturdy light weight aluminum, yet weighing only 13 Oz it is light enough to hook onto a neck lanyard for ready access. When the Mono-pod is collapsed it measures only 21” making it easy to fit into a back pack.  The Mono-pod design has become popular as a replacement to the traditional tripod because it is less bulky to carry, requires no set up and leveling, and can be used for other purposes along the way, such as a walking stick.  Sorry we only sell the Mono-pod as part of the Stedi Stock® combo packs.

Our Quality American Made Hand Crafted Leather Holsters vs. massed produced and the Imports.

Just like a custom made pair of cowboy boots, our home based leather craftsmen make each one of our leather holsters and products one at a time.  They use only the best heavy-weight, premium leather harvested and tanned in the United States.  Unlike other leather imported from foreign countries such as Mexico, leather tanned in the United States utilizes a vegetable oil tanning process.  Many of the leather products imported still use urine, some of it Human, in the tanning process, thus when the leather becomes wet it will actually give off a foul urine odor. This will often occur with Mexican and other imported cheap leather products.   The leathers used in our products are also much thicker than the imported leather, and will hold up to even to hardest use and abuse to someday become a family heirloom.

Using thicker leather means the stitching has to be thicker; our craftsmen use a thread thickness very similar to cord.  The thicker the leather the better the holes punched during the sewing process will not pull through on the edges after years of hard use.  Also the thicker the thread, the less likely it will break at the corners and other stress points in the leather product.  Our craftsmen also double and triple stitch stress points such as belt loops, to provide years of use.
Our fancy tooled leather is actually hand tooled the old fashioned way.  A tradition passed down from generations of leather craftsmen.  The imported and many American mass produced leather products use a process of machine stamping to simulate the look of hand tooled leather.

Each of our handcrafted leather holsters are cut to the exact fit for a specific pistol and the exact barrel length.  Massed produced holsters are cut to one size to fit multiple pistols and then machine molded to fit a specific range of pistol sizes.  This process may vary on how a specific pistol and barrel length will fit into the holster.  Too much play and the pistol may easily fall out when a concealed carried weapon individual bends over, or the weapon may fit too snug making it difficult to draw when time is critical.   Machine molding can actually thin and weaken the leather around the profile of the weapon, this area is also the most common wear point during the life of a holster, and thus the potential for wear tear through in a short time is very high.
The stress points on our leather products are riveted together using cadmium plated rivets; Cadmium protects the metal from corrosion and blackening around the rivet and or rusting when the leather becomes wet.  Many cheap holsters are made with inferior rivets that blacken the leather or will rust and eventually separate.

On the leather holsters using a belt clip, our craftsmen uses only the best quality heavy duty stainless steel clips. The clips are full enclosure device to lock securely around the belt.  Others will use a short clip much like on a tape measure.  These often pop off the belt during bending and kneeling.   When carrying around a loaded weapon, the worst thing that can happen is for a clip to easily pop off or the clip breaks from stress allowing the weapon to fall out to the floor or to a hard surface and potentially discharge.

The Double Trouble leather holster was custom designed for a group of professional casino security and body guards who were seeking relief from having to lug around hot shoulder holsters weighted by two heavy pistols and loaded clips for an entire shift.  Professional casino security and body guards are required to carry two pistols at all times they are on duty.  They are not alone with this issue, as many other professional security and body guards are also required to carry two pistols.  The Double Trouble Holster eliminates having to manage two separate holsters under a suit coat or jacket. There is also no awkward cross over the chest to draw from the opposite side, simply reach back and draw one at a time or both at the same time.

The Double Trouble side-by-side dual carry concealed holster is designed  to accommodate two small frame automatic pistols such as a 45 caliber or 1911  4"-6" pistol. The Double Trouble holster provides easy access to draw either right or left hand from behind the back.  The belt secure clip holster is designed to go inside the pants right in the small of the back, (middle of the back) and clip over the belt. The inside of the holster provides a 12" saddle across the back, which is much more comfortable in a standing or sitting position than just a single carry holster in the small of the back.

This American hand crafted leather holster is cut from 8oz premium American tanned leather and then double stitched with heavy duty stitching.  It is equipped with two heavy duty secure clip stainless belt clips, which are then riveted into the holster.  Secure clips means the clip fits over the belt then has another metal tab that locks under the belt. Unlike a standard belt clip on a cell phone case or tape measure, the secure clips are not as likely to pop off during, sitting, bending, kneeling, or when the weapon is drawn from the holster.  The stainless steel clips also help keeps the holster in place in case there is a scuffle or rolling on the ground. Crock Pot Apple Butter Recipe

Here is a very simple recipe to make old fashioned Apple Butter.

Cook 5 lbs of apples quartered and peeled in water until they can be mashed into a pulp

Add 1-1/2 cups of apple cider vinegar, then if needed add water until you achieve 7 cups of pulp. 

Add 3 cups of sugar, 1-1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon of Allspice, and 1 teaspoon of Cloves.

Pour into a Crock Pot and cook over night. Place a large pizza pan under the Crock Pot to catch any overflow while cooking.

Pour into jelly jars while it is still hot and seal per recommended safe canning procedures.

Apple Cider Press

As cooler fall air begins to stir, the processing and taste of fresh apples begin to enrich our thoughts of the upcoming fall season.  Baked apples, apple pie, apple Butter, and fresh apple cider are just a few of our favorites.  Cottage Craft Works offers The Complete Apple Cider Press.  The unit has an attached apple grinder and Heavy duty 1" diam. pressing screw with Acme thread to exert a powerhouse of pressure with a minimum effort.

The apple grinder features a hardwood drum studded with eight rows of stainless steel teeth mounted on a steel crankshaft inside the hopper.(Grinder can be easily removed from press and mounted on a sawhorse or other support, allowing one person to grind fruit, another to press juices.)
Heavy cast-iron flywheel with hardwood handle rotates drum mounted on steel shaft -- all perfectly balanced for smooth, easy grinding.

Large steel-banded pressing tub will hold up to one bushel of pulp inside the fitted, fine-mesh pressing bag. It will keep the skins, stems and pulp inside the bag letting only the juice flow through.   The entire press frame and tub are made from SOLID MAPLE for super strength.  The uprights are also made of sturdy maple and the extra wide-stance legs provide total stability under grinding and pressing action.

The optional Wooden Hopper holds 35 pounds of apples and makes grinding easier and faster.
