A "social network" is an online network of individual people. Facebook.com and MySpace.com with millions of users are examples of large general purpose networks.

Q: What is HuntersNetworks.com?
HuntersNetworks.com is a free open social network focused on the hunting, fishing and shooting communities. It is a network for all hunters to join, whether you hunt deer, turkey and small game or hunt worldwide for big game.

HuntersNetworks also provides a platform for:
  • Outfitters and professional hunting guides to advertise and promote their services.
  • Individuals connected to the hunting and shooting world to network and interact.
  • Companies and manufactures targeting the hunting and shooting world to introduce, market and advertise their products and services.
  • Pro-hunting, conservation and shooting organizations both at a local as well as a national level to create Chapter Groups for their members to network and share information.
Q: Why is HuntersNetworks called an OPEN network?
At HuntersNetworks we do not have an agenda of our own other than to promote hunting, conservation and the shooting sports. This is the reason we refer to people on the network as network users and not our members. We see ourselves as a provider of an online platform that connects the hunting and shooting world.

Q: Who has joined HuntersNetworks?
HuntersNetworks is growing rapidly and consists of sport hunters, outfitters, hunting operators, ranch owners, hunting guides, African professional hunters, booking agents, videographers, manufacturers of hunting related products and services, writers, hosts of TV shows, veterans, servicemen, wildlife artists, taxidermists and other individuals. The common bond that brings us together is our love for hunting, fishing, shooting and the outdoors. Every new user brings with them new connections and opportunities to the network.

Our network users include members of SCI, NRA, US Sportsmen's Alliance, APHA, Ducks Unlimited, Dallas Safari Club, National Wild Turkey Federation, Pheasants Forever, Quail Unlimited, PHASA, Houston Safari Club, Boone and Crocket club, outfitters and guides associations, professional hunters associations and several other local and national organizations worldwide.

Q: How does one join the network?

Q: What does HuntersNetworks offer an individual user?
Hunters and individual users can network with their friends and make new contacts with other hunters who share their sport and interests. Users can share photographs and information, express their thoughts in their blog. Find hunts for sale, read and post hunting reports, find outfitters and guides by species of game they hunt or by location, find a booking agent, write or read a product review, create or join a Group to share information with other users who belong to their club or have similar interests, add items for sale in the free classified section and more.

Q: What does HuntersNetworks offer an Outfitter?
Apart from all of the above, outfitters and hunt providers have special fields which they can use to add information on their hunting operation. They can specify the type of game they specialize in hunting and create multiple photo albums to highlight photos of their lodge, clients' trophies, etc. They can update their blog on a regular basis for hunters on the network to be kept abreast of their latest news and developments. They can add an outfitters report in the Outfitters Reports section. They can write articles on the species of game they hunt to educate hunters as well as establish their credibility. They can request their own clients to write a hunt report on their recent hunt and post it on HuntersNetworks. The more reports an outfitter receives the higher their profile and exposure.

HuntersNetworks also offers outfitters and professional hunters with a targeted audience to advertise their services by way of banner ads or by broadcasting their promotional DVD through our online TV network www.hunterstv.com

Q: What does HuntersNetworks offer a Manufacturer?
Similar to an outfitter or hunting guide, product manufacturers and service providers can showcase their products in their photo albums, list items for sale in the classified section and post product reviews. They can also run exclusive promotions for HuntersNetworks users.

HuntersNetworks also offers manufacturers of hunting gear with a captive and targeted audience to advertise their products and brands by way of banner ads or by broadcasting their promotional DVD through our online TV network www.hunterstv.com

Q: What does HuntersNetworks offer a pro-hunting and shooting organization?
One of the features of the network is the ability to create a GROUP or mini network within the framework of the overall network.

Organizations can create official "Groups" for their organizations or chapters on the network. You can invite your members to join your Chapter Group, so that your members are now electronically linked together to facilitate networking and share information. Creating a Group will provide your organization with a vehicle to reach out to other network users (non members) so that they can be made aware of your organization and get more information. Your Group page can be linked directly to your website. Likewise a link can be added on your chapter website linking to your Group page on the network.

Similar to your individual profile, you have total control over your group and the members who join your group. A group has its own settings and it can be set up as a Public group for anyone on the network to join or even as a Private group whereby users have to be invited and accepted before they can join your group.

Every group comes with its own photo album where photos of your organization's events can be posted for your Group members to view and comment on. A discussion board allows group members to post, read and reply to discussion topics. Group members can see profiles of other members of their group and link them to their profiles by accepting them as friends.

Organizations can also post information in the Articles section under organization news to create further awareness.

Q: Which organizations are using the network?
Apart from members own groups, several local as well as national organizations have created Chapter Groups for their members to join. Various chapters of Safari Club International have created Groups for their members to join. The NRA, US Sportsmen's Alliance, South African Hunting and Game Conservation Association have also created Groups for their members.
