well I got two deer this year no elk but man did learn alot.I had a really good stalk on some big bull elk .It was morning and still dark in WMU 300 about 30 below zero.I walked up on the haystak and there they were,I hit the dirt and looked into the scope,it was still dark so I could not see if one of the three elk was a cow ,that was the tag I had. I waited till I could see properly. to bad they were all bulls, two smaller ones and a nice 6 by 7, They knew i was there so I just laid there to see what would happen.Too my surprize two of the bulls laid down ,so I laid there for another twenty min or so to see if maby a cow would show up.By now it was totaly light out and i wunderd howcome they let me get so close,crawling on my belly?maby couse I looked so small,they thought i was a coyote.Anyway,along came another hunter and instead of sneekin in like i did,he just drove right up and spooked away the three elk that were there and screwed up my possible ambush.So I walked back to talk to the guy and it turnes out he had a bull tag and could have easily shot any one of the elk that was there,if he had have done the right thing.Me and my hunting partner had parked far enough away to sneek up on three elk,the other hunter should have seen that and did the same.O well better luck next year.
