In September 2007 we hunted black bear over bait in Maine. The Outfitter is Joe Bowen who loves hunting bear with hounds and is a great bear guide. We however chose to hunt over bait.

The weather conditions were warm which caused the bears to come out later and become nocturnal. Out of our party of four, two members saw bear and I was lucky to shoot one.

Accomodation is provided in cottages on the banks of a lake in a camp ground style setting. You can either do your own cooking or the Campground owner's wife will cater for you.
