My late Brother Ken was quite the Outdoorsman. For the last 20 years he annual routine was 3 months working, and nine months hunting and fishing. His nickname was Camo which was given to him by a hunter who sat down right next to him (unknowingly) while hunting in Utah. He was in the top 1% in natural ability and no one ever had as much luck.  He was a wild Indian...Sometimes we had as many as 12 people on group trips to Utah or Georgia. When this happens we always had to keep everyone on there toes with a few pranks and ongoing air about camp as to what's going to happen next...

Use your imagination;  he set up a deer decoy with a massive rack about 200 yards out, on a field across from our front yard.  When hunters came back in for lunch  They would eventually see the deer, and then ask if they could shoot from the yard. It's funny to watch the expression and body language, of a grown man missing a big animal or fish. And some of these guys got really emotional, then mad. When they thought they missed the first shot,  some really funny phrases came out.. Every one of them mistake the decoy for live game & shot at it at least 2 times, while we held back the tears. They got mad until they watched the next man shoot, then they laughed there butt off.. We always have good hunts with plenty of game which made up for the humiliation.

While in Utah, he stuffed a black & white furry pillow down a badger hole next to the outhouse. He tied the pillow to some fishing line and ran it to his trailer.  When a new guy came in, he would always inspect the badger hole carefully, several even stuffed burning paper in the hole trying to smoke him out. About the time they bent over to look in the hole, Camo would jerk the furry pillow out. These guys would crap there paints trying to get away from that pillow. One guy knocked a big dent in a new truck.

He passed away a few years ago while fishing a Southern King Fish tourney in Fusion LA.

They put him in the SKA Hall of Fame – www.fishska.com      2007  Ken “ Camo Thompson.

He was a mess.
