Physical Characteristics:

Addax are a desert antelope species. They are roughly three feet tall and weigh about 200lbs. They are closely related to the Oryx.

Distribution:

Currently Addax are endangered in the wild and a few hundred animals are left in isolated pockets in the Sahara desert.
|

Hunting Method:
|
As most Addax are now hunted on private properties. It is most likely that a particular animal will be identified for the hunter to take on their hunt. Spot and stalk will be the most likely situation.

The Shot:
|
As with all antelope species a shoulder or lung shot is ideal.
|
|
Calibers:
|
Minimum caliber recommended 7mm.
|

Ammunition:
|
A good well constructed soft nose bullet.
|
|
|
Taxidermy:
|
A shoulder mount will be majestic and befitting for such a rare trophy. Sportsmen with larger trophy rooms might indulge in a full mount.

Best Locations:
|
Addax can no longer be hunted in the wild. They can now only be hunted on private ranches and preserves in the USA. Texas has a number of such exotic ranches which provide hunting opportunities for game that would otherwise be extinct.
